School Programs & Enrollment

Registration, Attendance, and School Boundaries

Find registration requirements, boundary maps, and school zone updates. Use the SchoolFinder tool to see which schools your child is zoned to attend.

Specialty Programs, Career Academies, and Charter Schools

Learn about available specialty and charter school programs, how to apply, key deadlines, and answers to frequently asked questions. Includes current openings, application forms, and lottery results.

Families of students with disabilities can apply to specialty programs. Contact the Office of Special Education or the Family Support Center to discuss how IEP services may be supported in these settings.

Transportation Services

Bus schedules, routes, and contact info for transportation support. Follow your child's bus route in real time with the StopFinder app, or find your child's bus stop with InfoFinder.

‍Note: Chipmunk, a new app to replace StopFinder, will begin limited rollout in Fall 2025, starting with high-need groups.

SchoolMessenger

SchoolMessenger is used to deliver robocalls, texts, and email updates from PGCPS—especially messages from the Board of Education and district leadership.
To enroll, you'll need a ParentVUE account, since SchoolMessenger uses that contact info to verify your identity.

Note: For weather closures or emergency alerts, use ParentVUE or the PGCPS mobile app, which deliver notifications from individual schools automatically.

Lunch Menus & Nutrition Info

View current school meal menus, nutrition information, and updates from Food & Nutrition Services, and apply for free/reduced meals.

Student Records & Transfers

Request transcripts, report cards, enrollment history, or initiate a school transfer. Includes forms, instructions, and contact info for the PGCPS Records & Transfers Office.

Prepared by us in conjunction with The Arc of Prince George’s County, this 2007 report evaluated the extent to which students with disabilities are included in general education settings in Prince George’s County Public Schools, and provides recommendations for improving access.
