These training materials were developed by the Parent’s Place of Maryland (PPMD) in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to help families understand the special education process, build effective partnerships with schools, and advocate for their children’s needs. The collection includes presentation slides, detailed notes, and a variety of handouts covering topics such as parental rights, the IEP process, informed consent, and advocacy strategies.
Note: Most of these materials were created in 2007 and some information, forms, or legal references may be outdated. They are provided here as historical resources for background knowledge and skill-building.
